After losing contact with her father in Kyoto, Chizuru decides to pay him a visit. During her journey, she witnesses a Shinsengumi soldier slaying a bloodthirsty monster. Through a twist of fate, Chizuru becomes entangled with the Shinsengumi and the assassins hell-bent on eliminating them. As the story progresses, Chizuru unravels their dreadful secret in a chaotic era where the men of the Shinsengumi are torn apart by their own conflicting thoughts, fighting relentlessly to defend their faith and ideals.
